Anthology Archives: String of Love by Rakshita Batra

From our 2021 Anthology "Perseverance".

The power of literature in its ability to extend across international borders played a major role in the founding of ICWS, and has remained central within the publication of our most recent anthology volume: Perseverance. For this week's spotlight piece, I wanted to highlight a beautiful poem written by one of our international partners, Rakshita Batra. The lyricism of her words perfectly reflects the connections drawn between the poem's central themes of love and music.

String of Love

Rakshita Batra

Cord touching our hearts deep Inside,

Flowing love in every part of body.

Soothing every recessed creature,

With the cadence it generates.

Sometimes driving us down our memory lanes,

Refurbishing all emotions connected with it.

With every verse played on cord,

Making us feel the meaning of it deeply.

Helping us express our emotions silently.

Making our nights placid.

First love of every human with the best lover till last breath.

Music is not just a word but a sensation.

Bringing various cadence out of humans depicting their life.

Thankful to god for he has created music to let every soul live happily
